About Us
Who We Are
The society's broad aims are:
to promote excellence in the care of people with dermatological conditions through communication, education, research and professional development.
to increase recognition of New Zealand dermatology nurses and nursing nationally and internationally.
New Zealand Dermatology Nurses do not provide an on-line dermatology consultation service.
If you have any concerns with your skin or its treatment, see a dermatologist for advice.
The Dermatology Nurses and Allied Health Professionals group formed in 2006 and incorporated in January 2010 to the New Zealand Dermatology Nurses' Society Incorporated. We are also a registered charity.
Our members come from a wide range of practice backgrounds in public and private clinics and hospitals, from general or specialized areas. We meet together at an annual national conference to share information, for mutual support, networking and inspiration.
There is a nominal yearly fee to become a Full or Associate member and this gives the significant benefit of significantly reduced conference fees. As other related educational opportunities arise, the Secretary for the committee will alert members by email.
Membership Plans
Full Members are also able to apply for our yearly scholarships.
RN/ENs practicing in NZ. Full members can attend AGM and may vote on society decisions. AGMs are held at our annual conference in August each year.
Other HCP roles within the field of dermatology (e.g. phototherapy technicians, podiatrists), and for RN/ENs who are practising outside of NZ. May also attend AGM, but may not vote on society decisions.
